Cosmos - a cosmological argument

The cosmological argument - why cause and effect requires God

Cosmological Argument

  • Premise 1: Everything that begins to exist has a cause.

  • Premise 2: The universe began to exist.

  • Conclusion: Therefore, the universe has a cause, which must be God.

Argument from Motion

  1. Everything that is in motion is put in motion by something else.

  2. There cannot be an infinite regress of movers.

  3. Conclusion: There must be a singular unmoved mover.
